Kate Hill
Senior Lawyer
Kate has worked in private practice and Community Legal Centres since 1998. Kate has a meticulous approach to the law and a gentle way with clients.
Where possible, Kate will work with clients to achieve a settlement. Still, she is aware that not all clients can achieve a fair resolution of their dispute without recourse to the courts. Sometimes, litigation is the only way to protect a client’s interests. It is important to Kate that privilege and power do not govern the outcome of cases. She works hard to ensure that her clients receive a result that reflects the merits of their case. Kate will provide a frank assessment of her client’s prospects so as to provide cost-effective representation.
The highlights of Kate’s career include finalising a multi-forum “Tsunami of cases,” all of which were an abuse of process and had extended over 15 years, and having a terrified client’s Restraining Order confirmed in the Supreme Court of WA with the associated costs benefits to the client.
Outside work, Kate enjoys good company, spending time with family, relaxing, travelling, and reading – particularly biographies.
